DIVERSITY TRAINING WORKSHOPS

"Diversity" is often used to refer to "culture", but it is only one component of diversity!

Diversity refers to more characteristics than race, ethnicity, gender and age.  It includes personality, lifestyle, beliefs, values, assumptions and communication styles.

Diversity and racism/sexism training material have generally been pitched at the level of less subtle forms of discriminatory or perceived as discriminatory/exclusion behaviour such as racial/gender stereotyping and blatant disrespect.  For many organisations these materials and methods are somewhat passé.  Many managers, employees - black, white, male and female, feel insulted by the level at which many Diversity interventions are pitched, either that, or find very little in such interventions which relates to their actual work experience.  Having spent the last twenty years consulting in the area of Diversity Management, we have become increasingly aware that companies require contemporary Diversity material, relevant to current business issues.

Skills training workshops

We are accredited to provide all registered SAQA Human Resources and Industrial Relations unit standards.  As we are accredited with the SABPP, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the SABPP and most other SETAS. Learners in any industry could thus obtain certificates from us.

Diversity Audits and Barrier analysis

The diversity Audit and pulse survey evaluates the conditions under which diversity-related issues can be identified and solved.

The diversity matrix looks at benchmarking workforce composition and talent management, policies and procedures, and employee experience.  Areas for improvement are identified.

We assist Employment Equity Committees in conducting evauation and monitoring audits on three levels:  Policy, Procedural and Practice Audit, Perceptions and Attitude audits and Statistical analysis and benchmarking.

Training of representative Employment Equity and Skills Development Committees

Employment Equity Committees are often re-elected and new members of such forums are in need of training.  We assist committees who need to revitalise and implement the equity process.  Our y workshops assist the team to understand the relevant legislation and to have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities. The workshop is aligned with the relevant Unit Standard. We provide the committee with a draft constitution and dispute mechanisms and leave them with a step by step action plan.
